Chase Sapphire Preferred Card
If you don’t frequently stay at one hotel, you may want a card that offers powerful travel rewards perks. Look no further than the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. This is one of the best credit cards for hotels. You receive not only double the points on travel but also other purchases such as dining.
Compared to other travel cards, points on Chase’s system are worth more. For example, 60,000 points are worth over $750 on travel purchases. This card has many sign-up perks, as well. You can earn 60,000 points when you spend $4,000 in the first three months of your account opening.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has more opportunities for rewards, compared to other cards. You earn two points for every dollar you spend and more for certain purchases, such as dining and travel. Additionally, when you use the card for travel, the point worth increases to 1.25%.
You can also use the card toward a myriad of different hotel loyalty programs, including ones offered by Marriott and Hyatt. There’s also no foreign transaction fee, perfect for international travel.
You won’t get all perks for this card compared to other hotel cards. For example, the card doesn’t qualify for free room upgrades. Keep in mind, good to excellent credit is needed to qualify.
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card
If you frequently stay at Marriotts, you’ll see this card has some of the best hotel credit card offers. It’s packed with benefits and rewards, including a free night’s stay every year. This card is accepted at all Marriott locations, and you can use the points for more than just hotel stays.
Some of the other benefits of the card are earning 75,000 points when you spend $3,000 in the first three months, earning 6x Bonvoy points for every dollar spent at over 7,000 hotels, and 2x Bonvoy points on all other purchases. The card also comes with no foreign transaction fees, so you can stay at Marriott locations overseas.
There are thousands of Marriott locations worldwide, meaning there are many ways to rack up the reward points. This card also comes with additional perks, including late checkout and bonus points. The points are also transferrable to different airlines.
This card should specifically be used for frequent Marriott stays. If you don’t stay at Marriott often, this card isn’t for you. This card also comes with a $95 annual fee and requires a good to excellent credit score.
The World of Hyatt Credit Card
What if you prefer staying at the Hyatt over the Marriott? Don’t worry, there’s a Hyatt credit card for you. The World of Hyatt Credit Card offers a free night stay for your anniversary and an extra free night stay when you spend $15,000 during your first cardmember year.
You also earn 25,000 bonus points when you spend $3,000 in the first three months of opening your account. You gain four bonus points for every dollar you spend at Hyatt locations and five base points for every dollar you spend when you become a World of Hyatt member.
You earn two bonus points for every dollar on non-Hyatt purchases, including plane tickets, restaurants, and even gym memberships.
Hyatt fans are in luck because this card has the highest point values of any hotel credit cards. This also includes purchases that aren’t spent at the Hyatt. You also earn automatic Discoverist status, which entails you to late checkout and room upgrades.
Compared to other chains, Hyatt is smaller, and you have limited spending opportunities. The card comes with a $95 annual fee, and you need good to excellent credit to qualify.
IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card
InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) hosts many hotel brands, including:
- Holiday Inn
- Candlewood Suites
- Six Senses Hotels
- Regent Hotels
- Kimpton Hotels and Resorts
- Crowne Plaza
- Staybridge Suites
- EVEN Hotels
- And more
The IHG Premier Credit Card is a good choice because it can be used at any of these hotels and you’ll be upgraded to Platinum Elite status.
Compared to other cards, this one offers more free night perks. You earn a free night for every anniversary as a cardmember and you earn a free night if your stay is four nights or longer. You also earn 140,000 points if you spend $3,000 in the first three months.
You earn 25 points for every dollar spent at an IHG hotel as well as two points for every dollar spent on groceries, gas, and restaurants. You also earn one point for every dollar spent on all other purchases. You can redeem your points at any IHG hotel.

You’re immediately qualified for Platinum Elite status, which rewards you room upgrades, exclusive room rates, and check-in/check-out privileges. There are also more opportunities to earn free stays with this card compared to other cards.
Since it’s a branded credit card, you can’t use the card toward all travel purchases. To qualify, you need good to excellent credit.
Wyndham Rewards Visa Credit Card
The Wyndham Rewards Visa Credit Card has more benefits than gaining hotel rewards, including reward categories and introductory bonuses. You earn two points per dollar spent at eligible grocery stores and gas stations.
But their hotel rewards are pretty impressive. For example, 15,000 points are equal to a free two-night stay. And you can achieve this easily — you earn 15,000 points when you make your first purchase.
You earn five points per dollar spent at participating Wyndham hotels.
There’s no foreign transaction fee. You can use your points for free or discounted nights at any participating Wyndham hotel or resort. These points can also be transferred to different airlines and to purchase merchandise or other goods.
Best Western Rewards Premium Mastercard
While Best Western fans will like this card, it doesn’t come packed with the perks of other credit cards. For example, this card doesn’t come with free anniversary nights.
But there are ways to rack up points quickly. For example, you can earn 50,000 points after you spend $1,000 in the first three billing cycles. You can also earn another 20,000 points when you spend at least $5,000 during each 12 billing cycle period.
As long as you’re a Best Western Rewards member, you get 20 points per dollar spent on your Best Western purchases. You also get two points per dollar spent on all other purchases.
There are many ways to get rewards and you can get rewards easily. You can trade in these points for free night stays if you don’t get a free anniversary night. You can also use your points toward airline miles, merchandise, gift cards, and even charitable donations.
This card comes with a $59 annual fee, even though it’s lower than most cards on this list.
Orbitz Rewards Visa Card
Many people use Orbitz to find the best flights and hotel rooms. Many travelers may not know is Orbitz offers their Visa credit card that’s packed with rewards. Keep in mind, you can only use your rewards for hotel bookings.
The biggest benefit is the high rewards rate. You can earn up to 10% Orbucks on all Orbitz purchases and 2% Orbucks on all other purchases. You also get a $100 statement credit after spending $1,500 within the first 90 days, which many travel card companies don’t offer.
If you use Orbitz to book international travel, you’ll like knowing that no foreign transaction fee comes with this card.
The biggest drawback is you can only redeem your points on hotels. But at least you have a wide selection of hotels to choose from.
Radisson Rewards Premier Signature Visa Card
This rewards card is another one that will only benefit avid Radisson fans. While the rewards aren’t worth a lot of points, Radisson fans can easily let their points grow and use them at Radisson hotels.
The card comes with 40,000 bonus points every time you pay the annual fee. You earn 10 points per dollar spent at Radisson locations and 5 points per dollar on all other purchases.
Not only is there a high rewards rate but you can grow your rewards quickly. You can use these points toward your Radisson stay, but keep in mind there are only limited Radisson hotels.
While the 40,000 extra points are great, there’s no free anniversary night. There’s also an annual fee of $75.
Chase Sapphire Reserve
Chase travel cards are some of the highest-rated. If you don’t want to be tied to one hotel, this is another great option where you can use your reward points toward hotel stays.
You earn 50,000 points when you spend $4,000 in the first three months of sign up. That equals to $750 worth of travel rewards! You also receive a $300 account statement every year and 3x points after earning your account statement.
You can transfer your points to hotel and airline loyalty programs. Your points also have 50% more value when you use them toward Chase Ultimate Rewards. You also receive a $100 credit toward TSA pre-check and global entry.
You also earn a complimentary Lyft Pink and Dash Pass subscription if you activate your card before December 31, 2021.
This card, by far, has the highest annual fee — $550! You also need to have excellent credit to qualify for the card. The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has many of these same perks with only a $95 annual fee and more credit flexibility.
The Platinum Card From American Express
Even though this card also comes with a hefty annual fee, you can earn reward points and use them on hotel and other travel expenses.
There are many ways to maximize your reward points. You earn 5x membership rewards when you book with American Express travel and even directly with airlines. For frequent flyers, you receive a $200 airline fee credit as well as $200 annually in baggage fees.
You also earn 5x reward points when you book your hotel through American Express. In addition, you qualify for $550 worth of complimentary additives at participating hotels.
